I realize a portion of you are into rock, light jazz, maybe even Latin -- so I'd highly recommend the Mars Volta. The Mars Volta's sound is like nothing I've ever heard; a mix of rock, jazz, Latin, prog-rock, old-school punk, with bits of everything else mixed in. Their first CD, De-louced in the Comatorium is the best work of art I've ever listened too. It's a concept album; displaying the life and adventures of a late band-member, one who went into a coma, woke, and then took his life. The Mars Volta will take you on journeys, for sure. Just give them a listen.
